IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL SPORTS SHOOTING ENTHUSIASTS

Richmond Rod & Gun Club is in need of new club members. That is, if Lower Mainland area shooting is to continue in a noteworthy manner, much further into the future. Your assistance is desperately needed.  We are having difficulty trying to do everything on our own.

We require serious new dues paying members, as well as donations, to help defray some of the $1,500,000 cost of the proposed building and 15 position indoor range facility. The range has been designed and will be constructed to meet the requirements of Lower Mainland Sports Shooting Enthusiasts. However, we need lots of support and your help NOW to make this project a reality.

We currently own, with clear title, a .56 acre parcel of land on Mitchell Island (value approximately $550,000).  The lot has been pre-loaded, and is presently waiting for construction to start on a new two-storey shooting facility. This indoor range will be within easy access via the Knight Street Bridge to Mitchell Island, suitably located between the major cities of Richmond and Vancouver, and within easy traveling distance from outlying districts.

How many more shooting ranges will be forced to close and cease their activities?
Lower Mainland Sports shooting ranges located on LEASED property are in serious trouble.  Several local gun ranges have been forced to close in recent years.  These include:
Capilano Rod & Gun Club (West Vancouver),  Barnett Rifle Range,  Burnaby Fish & Game Gun Club, and Coast Marksmen (3 Burnaby gun ranges),  Richmond Rod & Gun Club (Sea Island, Richmond)  Delta Ladner Rod & Gun Club - (Westham Island, Delta) and Pacific Shooters Association  ( North Vancouver)

Richmond Rod & Gun Club Directors are proposing the immediate EARLY BIRD advance sale of membership to make the future of sports shooting a reality with either 1, 3 or 5 year prepaid  membership in our new facility, valid upon completion of the building and range.
1 year   @ $   300:        3 year   @ $   750:         5 year   @ $1,000:

Richmond Rod & Gun Club is also seeking corporate sponsors and donors.
Bronze   $ 2,500;   Silver   $ 5,000;   Gold   $ 10,000;   Platinum   $ 25,000:

The club currently has a donation program in place commemorating the 50 year milestone anniversary of the founding of our organization in 1955.  Donations of $25 or greater to our building fund will receive a Special Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Lapel Pin. These pins were donated by a club member to assist in raising funds for the new building and indoor range.

Monies raised under the aforementioned programs would be held in trust, in a dedicated account.  All fees collected under this program would be strictly dedicated and used for expenses related to the building and range.  Spending approval would be required by the Richmond Rod & Gun Club’s Board of Directors, together with the signatures of three Signing Officers, prior to the disbursement of any funds, including accrued interest raised for this project.
