OUR OBJECTIVES
To encourage sports fishing, pistol & rifle shooting, archery and other related activities.
To develop a better knowledge and safe handling of firearms and good safety practices.
To actively co-operate with similar organizations in the protection of our British Columbia soils, waters and natural habitat.
To promote better relations between land owners and sportsmen.
To provide club facilities for the use of members.
To promote and disseminate a knowledge of safe and proper practices in fishing, hunting and related activities among the youth of our community.
Our temporary range is located in the Sportstown BC building at 4991 No. 5 Road, between Cambie and Westminster Highway in Richmond. We have an Archery range with champion archers to teach and assist. Equipment is available on site for those not having their own. Also we have an air gun/rifle range at the same location. Until the construction of our new range on recently purchased property is completed, we cannot accommodate handgun and .22 rifle shooting. Construction plans have been submitted and approvals should soon be received. Site preloads started Oct. 05.
As of March 2010 the latest rounds of talk for a joint venture have failed. The project with the requested additional floor etc. proved too much. We now will go back to square one and investigate what we first looked at, just a basic building that will allow for our shooting line traps that we own and for archery.
A new and interested party will have talks with our Directors towards the end of Sept, 2010 to see if we can again obtain funds for our range! Jan. 2011, const. costs etc. being prepared for the interested party. More news soon we hope.
Our application to the City of Richmond to have our property zoned for an indoor shooting range was passed, we will be the only club allowed to have such a range in this City!
